Walter Greenberry Black, 99, of Timbo, passed away June 27, 2015 at the Stone County Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born on December 4, 1915 in Emmet, Arkansas to Elvis Gentry Black and Susie Belle Heineike.
Walter is survived by one son, Freddy Black and daughter-in-law, Donna Black of Lampasas, TX and one daughter, Linda McLeod of Mountain View; two grandsons, Ron Black and wife Mindy of Pearland, TX, Danny Huerta and wife Amy of Fredericksburg, VA; two granddaughters Rhonda Duncan and husband Chris of Houston, TX, Dena Stagner and husband Barney of Houston, TX; four great-grandsons, Wynn Duncan, Zachary, Mitchell and Lucas Moseley; four great-granddaughters, Chelsea Black, Miranda Duncan, Courtney and Hailey Stagner as well as one brother, Emmett Black of Texarkana, AR and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Irma Laverne (Akin) Black; his parents, grandson Curtis Michael Black and 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Walter loved visiting with his family and friends and working in his flower garden. He was born with a green thumb that was evident in the produce and fruit that he grew and marketed on the downtown square. He was retired from International Harvester.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 30th at Timbo Valley Assembly Church, Timbo, AR. Visitation is from 9:30 to 11:00 with services beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Blue Mountain Cemetery with David Campbell officiating.
Pallbearers are Ron Black, Danny Huerta, Chris Duncan, Wynn Duncan, Merlin Bontrager and Steve Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers are Emmett Black, Dee Fulks, Nathan Irvin, Boss Morrison, Zachary Moseley, Mitchell Moseley and Lucas Moseley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital Little Rock, Arkansas.

Linda and Freddie: We were so saddened by the news of the death of Uncle Water. We have such happy memories of him and will continue to pull from those memories to remember him. Linda and Fred we share your sadness that comes from losing your father. We also share the joy of his life as part of his church family.
