Clara Kettlewell, 101, of North Little Rock passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015. She was born on Sunday, May 24, 1914 in Hanover, Ohio, to Horace D. and Jennie (Giffen) Evans.
Clara graduated from Hanover High School and the Newark College of Commerce. She was employed by Owens-Corning Fiberglass Corp. from 1934 to 1948 in Newark and Toledo, Ohio, and then by Service Products in Toledo and Columbus. In 1955 she married M. Sgt. Ralph D. Kettlewell and moved to North Little Rock, Arkansas. She retired as bookkeeper and secretary-treasurer of Leird Church Furniture in 1979. She was a member of Hanover Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post #1, Little Rock, and Freedom Years of PNB, Newark, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph D. Kettlewell; and three sisters, Kathleen Brown Parr, Sarah VanWey, and Mary Hicks. She is survived by two sons, Ralph D. Kettlewell, Tucson, Arizona, and Todd (Julie) Kettlewell, North Little Rock, Arkansas; a stepson, Ralph Wayne (Carol) Kettlewell, Stafford, Texas; and a stepdaughter, Sue (Richard) Griffin, Sacramento, California. Also, a granddaughter, Mallory (Tyler) Hopper; and three stepgrandchildren, Cheryl (Tom) Mallette, Sean (Jennifer) Griffin, and Robyn (Jeff) Babb; two great-grandchildren, Ryder Hopper and Sayler Hopper; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will have visitation at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock (501-791-7400) from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
Services will continue at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 169 Granville Rd., Newark, Ohio, on Friday, May 29th. with a visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, at the funeral home with burial following in the Hanover Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sherwood Senior Citizen Center, 2301 Thornhill Dr., Sherwood, AR 72120; or to Hanover Presbyterian Church, 732 N. Main St., Newark, OH 43055.

I just learned that your Mom passed away, and I'm sorry to hear it. It's been many years since we've been in touch, but I still have vivid memories of boyhood and high school days in your Mom's house. She was always nice to me, and I can still remember her laugh. I hope you are doing well and the years have been kind to you.

I'm sorry for your loss Todd, it's never easy losing your Mother . Know she is at peace now and with her family that went before her. thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
She was a special lady. What a great laugh she had. When we last visited her in April 2013 she was as spunky as ever.
