Matthew Bryon Mealer

of Mountain View, AR

September 19, 1988 - May 20, 2015

Matthew Bryon Mealer passed on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in the Red Doors Church community. His death was caused without illness or pain.
Matthew was born September 19, 1988, in Batesville, AR at White River Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of the Red Doors Church community. As a construction worker he had built a reputation as a hardworking, skilled craftsman. As a result of growing up in such a close community, he has lifelong ties to the people of Mtn. View. He has left us with the memories of his infectious grin and loving personality. He was always quick with a joke and loved to make people laugh.
He is survived by his daughter Asia'h Marie Lewis and son Kamden Layne Mealer; his mother and step-father Teresa and Ken Harvey; father Bryon Mealer; sister and brother-in-law Nicole and Mark Hitchcock; grandparents Mack and Linda Mealer, Doris and Dennis Meins and Marilyn Harsley; great grandparents Grace Trammell and Martha Mealer; nephew Austin Hitchcock and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents Emma Harsley, Ewing Trammell and Leamon Mealer.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 22 at Timbo Missionary Baptist Church, Junior Barham will officiate. Burial will be in the Red Doors Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Tyler King, Kenny Dornhoffer, Jacob McGlawn, Casey Broome, Jeff Edwards, David Fritz and Nicholas Boswell. Lunch to be served at the church following burial.
The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Roller-Coffman/Crouch Funeral Home at 1701 West Main.

I was so sorry to hear about Matthew. It grieves my heart for his family left behind. I didn't know him well as our family has grown so large and I have lived away for so long, but I know he was loved greatly by everyone. Prayers for God's peace and comfort for all who knew him.

We did not know your Matthew, but we have had difficult times like you’re going through right now.. My wife and I lost two adult sons in years past and we cherish their memories just as you do of Matthew. Our sons had no children so your loss is a little different, but the loss of a son is not the normal order of things and is a challenge at any age of a parent.

We are of the Christian faith and our ultimate belief was that God would carry us through the “valley of the shadow of death”, and He did. We pray for God’s comfort for you.
