Johnny L. Wheeler, Sr., age 70, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Wheeler was born July 10, 1944 at Helena, Arkansas to the late Coleman Roscoe Wheeler and the late Jennie Florine Richardson Wheeler. He was a riverboat captain for 42 years and retired from Janoush Marine Service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Evelyn Amos Wheeler; three sons, Johnny Leroy Wheeler , Jr. (Tonya) of Wheatley, Arkansas, Terry Coleman Wheeler (Kristy) of Moro, Arkansas and Donnie Joe Wheeler of Arkansas; one daughter, Johnna Lois Wheeler of West Helena; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Maggie Brown (Bobby) of West Helena; three brothers, Jimmy Joe ''J.J.'' Wheeler (Sherry) of West Helena, Robert Lee ''Rabbit'' Wheeler of Clinton, Mississippi and James Edward ''J.W.'' Wheeler (Laurie) of West Memphis, Arkansas; a very special niece, Katie Gentry, whom he loved like a daughter; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Helen Allen and Betty Adams; one brother, Coleman Roscoe Wheeler, Jr.; and a son, Jason Wesly Wheeler.
A memorial service for Johnny L. Wheeler will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Brother Tony Dyce will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers are Steve Reed, Rueben Johnson and Peck Travis.
Memorial service will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.

he was my nephews daddy any heart goes out for them at this time I can remember when him and my sister Margaret where dating before they got married we had this long front porch and they were sitting on it and I remember thinking how goodlooking he was and I also remember daddy coming out of the house and telling him and buddy wayne it was time for them to leave because some people had to work but guess what they were back the next night Margaret cried all night because daddy had done that he was the love of her life
