Helen Hankins, 85, of Jonesboro, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born January 31, 1930 at Cash to the late Cecil and Trula Parr Matthews. Helen retired from the Jonesboro Public School system where she worked as a payroll specialist. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bermell Hubbard and a brother, Ray Matthews.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Hankins; a daughter, Sandra Adams; two grandchildren, Mac (Laura) Golden and Gretchen Golden; a great grandchild, Ellis Golden; and three sisters, Bernice Gibson, Faye Montgomery and Tony Bowman.
Graveside services will be 1 pm Wednesday at Philadelphia Cemetery with Terry Kimbrough officiating. Visitation will be 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro.
Sandra, I wish I could have been with the family during this sad time. My thoughts and prayers are with y'all as you walk this sad & lonesome trail.

Mr. Ed, Sandra & family, Sorry to learn of Ms. Helen's passing. I remember so many good times we had on those Sunday afternoons when 'the girls' went home with y'all after church. I always enjoyed hearing Ms. Helen laugh when she got really tickled. I know you all will surely miss her, but know that you will all be together again one day. God bless you all. RIP Ms. Helen.
