Edna Mae Miller Tenney, 89, of North Little Rock, died February 27, 2015. Mae was born on January 18, 1926 in North Little Rock, AR. She was the daughter of Edna Mae Leaf Miller and Charles Oliver Miller.

Mae married A. Leigh Tenney in 1945. They met in 7th grade at Fourth St. Junior High in North Little Rock. She graduated North Little Rock High School, Class of '43 and attended classes at Little Rock Junior College and the University of Arkansas. Mae and Leigh were dedicated supporters of the Razorbacks! Mae is survived by her daughter, Dinda Hemphill and husband Mike; her grandson, Zak Hemphill and wife Arline; and her great-grandchildren, Landen and Hope Hemphill. She was preceded in death by her brother, Buddy; her husband, Leigh; and her great-granddaughter, Marlie.

Following her wishes, there will only be a graveside service for the immediate family. Interment will be at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery with services directed by Roller-Owens Funeral Home, North Little Rock, AR.

Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Park Hill Presbyterian Church, 3520 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, AR 72116 or North Little Rock Animal Shelter, #1 Championship Dr., North Little Rock, AR 72118.

I am pastor Gordon Garington's Administrative Assistant at Park Hill Presbyterian Church. I have been here two years. I had never meet Ms. Mae in person, however I had spoken to her on the phone many times. She was always very sweet. I know she will be missed and will always be a beloved member of Park Hill Presbyterian Church. If there is any thing that the church office can do to help please call 501-753-9533. Your family is in my prayers.

Dinda and Family, I was so saddened to read of your Moms' recent death in today's paper. I am so so sorry. I think the hardest part about growing older is saying goodbye to those we love. And it seems like we're losing all our old friends. I'm glad we had the time with both of your parents while they were at Robinson Healthcare. It was good to relive old memories, and to get caught up with all of you. You can rest now knowing that they are both at peace, whole once again and together. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Dear Dinda,
I'm so very sorry your mom passed away. My mother and I were just talking about her on the very day she died. We were reminiscing about those wonderful coconut cookies that she would bring us and the Brownie Scout field trip to the bakery. what fun we had as kids on Skyline Drive. I hope her spirit heard all our fond memories, and I hope you and your family are comforted by your own. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Debbie
