Cam F. Ragland, age 86 of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015, at his home. He was born December 27, 1928, at Harrison, Arkansas, the son of F. C and Vena (Savage) Ragland. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jo Ann Horton Ragland.
Cam was a member of Bellefonte Methodist Church. He was a charter member of the Boone County Cattlemans Association where he served on the board at both state and county levels. He was a Farm Bureau member since 1947 and served at both state and national levels and was a voting delicate. He was awarded oldest living Farm Bureau member in Boone County in 2014. He was awarded Farm Family of the Year in 1976, Grassland Farmer of the Year in 1978, and Senior Farmer of the Year.
Cam was a charter member of the Round-Up Club and served on the board for 40 years. He was a charter member of the Arkansas Foxtrotter Association where his horses won both state and national levels. He served 8 years on the F. H. A. board for the Northwest District, served on the USDA board for 20 years, served on the Soil Compliance Board for 10 years, and on the Northwest Arkansas District Fair board 15 years. Cam was a member of the Valley Springs Booster Club 12 years.
Cam is survived by his sons and daughters-in-laws, Michael and Deborah Ragland and Stephen and Lora Ragland, all of Harrison; his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Randal Phillips, of Harrison; his sister, Daphna Shipley, of Perry, Oklahoma, and her children, Vicki, Lori, Lisa and their families.
Cam is also survived by his grandchildren, Preston Phillips, Raymond Phillips, Grant Ragland, Ashley Hare and her husband Kevin, Lauren Ragland-Granier and her husband Blake and Mandy Mitchell and her husband Max; his great-grandchildren, Carley, Maddie and Colt Phillips and their mother Mandi Phillips, Tenley Hare, Hayden and Jordyn Garnier and Hunter and Parker Mitchell; and his very special friend and companion, Joyce Young.
Visitation was Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home. Funeral services was Monday, March 2, 2015, at Eagle Heights Baptist Church with Mark Donald officiating. Burial was in the Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons.

I just watched the video memorial...wow does that bring back sweet memories. If those fields could talk between your house & ours...lots of fun, entertainment, work, sweat & tears, but bonds that never can be severed. So sorry we couldn't be at the funeral, but please know that you all are in mine & Danny's prayers. Love each of you.

The Ragland Family has all my prayers at this sad time. I only met Mr. Ragland at the wedding of my son Kevin and Ashley. My sympathy to Cam's children. I have known Cam since the Fifties when he had a milk route. I worked at Kraft milk plant in Yellville.He was a good man.
