Ms. Barnes was a true humanitarian. For years, she volunteered many hours annually serving on the Legal Aid of Arkansas Board of Directors. Her attendance and accountability were second to none, and she was always willing to put in extra time serving on committees and as a board officer. The board of directors, staff, and clients at Legal Aid of Arkansas are very saddened by this loss. Ms. Barnes always took interest in the welfare of the Legal Aid staff, and when my father passed away two years ago, she was the first to send me a heartfelt note of condolence. She will be missed.
Jo had such a gentle way about her. I will miss her smile. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time. I look forward to seeing her again, when the Roll is Called up Yonder! Lucinda
