James Samuel ''Sam'' Dunlap, 71, of Helena, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at his home with his family at his side; Sam was born February 24, 1943 to Lester Dunlap and Molly Marie Parker in Marvell, Arkansas.
Sam is survived by his spouse, Rosemary Hartley Dunlap of the home; two sons, James ''Sambo'' Dunlap Jr;, (Teresa) of Barton, Arkansas and Robert ''Brother'' Dunlap of Lexa, Arkansas; one daughter, Marcia Sanford (Keith) of Decatur, Alabama; three grandchildren, Kimberly Dunlap, Keiton Sanford and Bryan Dunlap; two great grandchildren, Tavin Wyssbrod and Jada Rogers; and one sister, Margaret Sue Wheeler (Buddy) of Pangburn, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Molly Marie Dunlap; one brother, Bill Dunlap; and one sister, Margaret Smith.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jacky Bradley, Leland Hartley, Donald Hartley, Keith Sanford, Bryan Dunlap and Terry Kemp.
Graveside services for Sam Dunlap will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Reverend Rodger Hooker will officiate. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Chapel.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
