Dorothy A. Chaney, 86, of Pangburn, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. She was born Friday, July 20, 1928 in Beebe, Arkansas to the late Vernie and Mamie Street Green.

Dorothy will be remembered for her love of flowers, her beautiful hand-made quilts and taking care of her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pangburn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold Chaney; a son, Hubert Chaney; and two brothers, Cecil and James Green.

She is survived by daughters, Judy Johnson (Bill) and Trixie Williams (Ronnie); sisters, Nova Adams and Trealius Selvidge all of Pangburn; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a host of other family and friends.

Family visitation will be 6:00-8:00PM, Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy (501)268-3546. Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, December 19, 2014 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church in Pangburn with Brother Allen Cook and Brother Scotty Burrow officiating. Interment will follow in the Howell Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make memorials to Pangburn First Baptist Sunday School Classroom remodel or Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Youth Fund.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. She was such a dear friend to everyone in our family. Her strength, love, and intense devotion earned the admiration of all who knew her, and her spirit will always be in our hearts.

We will all miss Dorothy so very much. I have known her and family since I was just a child. Mother and Dd and her family visited a lot . Dorothy was always checking about mother when I would see her. She will be missed.

I met Dorothy when she was quilting with the ladies at Searcy Faith. She was such a fun person to visit with. I loved hearing her laugh. Her smile would light up the room. She was a woman dedicated to her family. She will be missed. Prayers for comfort for the family.
