of Searcy, AR
June 24, 1927 - December 5, 2014
Lyndle Erwin Gentry, age 87, died Dec. 5, 2014, and went to his home
with the Lord. He was born to Emmett T.and Josephine Cook Gentry
June 24, 2927, in the Four Mile Hill community, where he lived his
entire life on the family farm. Mr. Gentry worked for nearly 30
years for the shoe factory in Searcy, leaving his job to be the
caretaker for his mother, then his father, and finally for his
sister. He was a faithful lifetime member of the Faith Assembly of
God Church on Highway 16.
Lyn loved vegetable gardening and some hunting, anything to be
outdoors. He was well known in his neighborhood for his long walks,
stopping to visit along the way. His teasing sense of humor will be
missed by his family and close friends.
Mr. Gentry was preceded in death by his parents, sister Juanita
Gentry Ward, brothers Readus Gentry and Doyle Gentry, his
sister-in-law Gerry Gentry, niece Linda Gentry Durke and nephew Paul
Gentry.
He is survived by 2 nieces Susan Gentry Martin of Searcy and Carole
Gentry Sherman, husband Ron, of Norman, Oklahoma, 2 great nieces and
2 great nephews, a great-great niece and a great-great nephew.
I will miss seeing Lyndle making his daily drive by the house. I always enjoyed stopping and visiting with him for a few minutes. He was such a kind man. Baugh Road just won't be the same anymore. Prayers for comfort for the family during this time.
