Bryan Kendall Verge

of Harrison, AR

January 31, 1970 - November 13, 2014

Bryan Kendall Verge, age 44, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born July 31, 1970, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Willis & Georganna (Mann) Verge.

Bryan was a lover of God, his family, his friends and his church. He was an honored youth pastor at Harrison First Assembly of God Church for 11 years. Bryan served as Arkansas Assembly of God Youth Department Sectional 2W Rep. for a few years. He graduated from Rogers High School in 1989. He would have celebrated his 25th anniversary in the summer of 2015 to the one and only love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Stephanie Verge. He cherished the memories he had with his wife and children traveling the world discovering God's creation and new destinations of history. Bryan had been employed with Sherwin-Williams since 1995. He always put others before himself and enjoyed making people laugh by cracking jokes to brighten and express the kind in everyone.

Bryan had a special bond with a precious buddy, a little dog named Rufus. Bryan was a diehard Razorback and Chiefs sport fan. He was to share the love of the game with his son. He was also supportive of our Goblins whether it was his son or youth playing in the football games or supporting his daughter in Goblin softball.

Bryan is survived by his wife, Stephanie (Salazar) Verge, of the home; his son and daughter, Tucker Verge and Maranda Verge, both of Harrison; his parents, Willis and Georganna Verge, of Rogers, Arkansas; two brothers, Bill Verge and wife Kelly of Al-ain, UAE and Todd Verge and wife Carol of Rogers, Arkansas; his grandmother, Louise Verge, of Independence, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other family.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at First Assembly of God Church in Harrison, with Bro. Dennis Selvidge and Ryan Tatham officiating.

Visitation will be 6-8PM, Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at Harrison First Assembly of God Church.

Interment will be in Denning Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Todd Verge, Bill Verge, Jody Hingle, Rick Tilley, Drew Barnes and Ken Averett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Harrison First Assembly of God Church youth.

Dear Stephanie,
We are continuing to pray for you and your children during this difficult time. One of the most vivid memories in my mind of Bryan was at Eastside Elementary. Being the biggest guy in the class, he gave all of us girls piggyback rides during recess..until he got corrected by the teacher! So thankful that you had so many years together as husband and wife. I know the upcoming holidays will be difficult, and praying that you will have "a peace that passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." With Love, the Lloys

Steph, Tucker, and Maranda you have been constantly in our prayers. Our heart breaks for the loss of Bryan. Our lives are richer having known Bryan and being a friend of his. It was an honor to serve as youth sponsor with you and Bryan. Bryan will be missed always. His love for life was evident in everything he did. What a legacy Bryan has left. I know he made such a difference and such an impact on anyone who knew him. He took Ryan under his wing and showed him what a true Man of God and Pastor should be. I believe Ryan is the minister he is today because of Bryan's impact and example. We love you all so much.

I count myself privileged to have known Bryan Verge. Bryan had a true pastor’s heart. He will always be remembered that way. He was always a joy to be around. His laughter was contagious to anyone that was around him. He was a encourager, and a spiritual warrior and a mentor to so many teens. He will be missed but know that he is at home with his heavenly father sitting at his feet where he longed to be. Stephanie, Tucker and Miranda we pray for continual strength thru this time and for comfort.

Stephanie, Tucker and Miranda, know that you are in my prayers and thoughts. I am proud to have known Bryan and watched him to develop in the strong man of God that he has become. I remember the message he preached about what started out as an ordinary day for some and ended with the great event of leaving this world and seeing Jesus. This is exactly what happened to Bryan, he not only saw Jesus, but he is with him. So many great times and memories. I am not sure how heaven works, but I am sure that he and my dad (George) have found each other and are having a great time together. I love you all.

Stephanie and family:
I cannot say enough about Bryan and how he blessed me. I know that he was ready for this final home going and he is in Heaven waiting for all of the family and many friends to join him there. He will be truly missed here on earth and may be envied by many that he is already in that Heavenly place where we all long to be. May God give you peace and assurance during this time of grief and may it be lightened by knowing that Bryan is in his Heavenly body without pain and imperfections.

I wanted to make a post on facebook but I couldn't bring myself to describe how this hit me in a single post. I'm afraid that all I can do is offer my condolences and say that I'm sorry that I didn't spend more time with him. It takes alot now a days to get me to cry, but as soon as I found out that he had moved on I cried like a child. Steph I love you and your whole family you were there for me and Addie so many times.

Pastor Bryan was quite a kind man who was filled with unconditional love. One thing I will remember most is Bryan accepted all. Also, Pastor Bryan lived his Godly life outside the church just as much as when he was in church. See you in Heaven!

A quote that we have heard speaks volumes about how we felt about Bryan...
"Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.' ' He touched so many people and left many footprints...
Stephanie, Maranda, Tucker...Our hearts are breaking for you! But the memories you built together will be forever with you...God Bless
