Billy Don Hayes, 79, of Conway, passed from this world Thursday, November 6th, 2014, at Conway Regional Medical Center. Bill was born in Charleston, Arkansas, October 29th, 1935, to the late George and Farrah Hayes. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Ida D. Hayes and a brother, Jerry Hayes.

Billy married Ida Dolores ''Dotty'' Broach on January 23, 1955. Education and hard work were of the utmost importance to Bill from an early age. Bill had a gift for writing; in addition to numerous essays, he authored and published an autobiography, 59 Acres. As well as caring for his family, Christian discipleship remained a focus for Bill; as a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, he served as song leader for several congregations, and most recently worshiped at Northside Church of Christ in Conway. He was also a member of the Bob's Grill Old Men Gang. Those who knew Bill will always cherish his wisdom, compassion, integrity, and contagious joy for life.

Kelly,

So sorry to hear of your dad's passing! He was a wonderful man and I enjoyed talking to him. Even after I left CHDC he would always stop to talk to me when he would see me in Bob's Grill.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Bill was a wonderful man and I feel he left this world too soon. Not many people are genuinely loved the way everyone loved him. He was kind, soft spoken, intelligent, sweet and much more. He will be missed.

I worked down the hall from Bill for several years at CHDC. He came to my office a lot to check out clients records. I always enjoyed Bill's company. He was a kind, sweet and caring man who had a very upbeat personality . I enjoyed hearing him play the piano at various events for the clients at CHDC. May God wrap his loving arms around Bill's family and hold you tightly as you go through this time of sorrow.

So sorry to hear about Billy Don. Was just thinking about him this week telling myself I needed to call. So sorry I didn't make that call.
At least you know where he is and that he is with your mom and they are enjoying each other and all the friends and family that have gone on before us.
