James D. ''Pete'' Younger, 67 of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on October 24, 2014 in Batesville AR. Pete was born on April 2, 1947 in St. James, AR to Ervin Edward Younger and Rosie Marie Brooks Younger. Pete was a veteran of the United States Army who served in Vietnam. Pete owned and operated the James D. Younger Sawmill in Mountain View, Arkansas, and served as Justice of the Peace representing District 6 for twelve years. As Justice of the Peace, he performed many wedding ceremonies during his term. Pete was an avid fisherman, enjoyed gardening, and sports, especially baseball, softball, and basketball. Pete helped to establish the Pleasant Grove Water Department and the Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department. Some of Pete's best qualities were his remarkable sense of humor and generosity.
Pete is survived by his daughter, Mandy Suzanne Younger, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; mother of his daughter, Marilyn Davis Younger of Mountain View; brothers, Elton Edward (John) Younger of Pleasant Grove, AR; Ervin Douglas Younger of Mountain View, AR; Terry Younger and Kenneth (Charlie) Younger both of Pleasant Grove, AR; sisters, Geneva Pilly of Wichita, Kansas; Shirley Jeanette Price of Batesville, AR; Sharon Atkisson of Conway, AR; Willa Rae Clements of Walnut Ridge, AR and Lisa Younger of Mountain View, AR.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Rosie Younger; sisters, Lora Jean Pilcher and Verbalea Passmore; brothers, Clinton Younger and Junior Younger.
Visitation will take place on Monday, October 27, 2014, from 6-8PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, AR. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at 10:00AM at the First United Methodist Church in Mountain View with Rev. Tom Williams and Rev. David Campbell officiating. Interment will take place at Kelley Ford Cemetery in St. James, AR.
Pallbearers: Howard Davis, Wayne Davis, Terry Younger, Bob Oates, Donnie Fletcher, Glen Dayberry, Howard Fitz, and Dean Hall.
Honorary Pallbearers: Pete's Mill Crew, James McIntire, Bob Burns, Melvin Ennis, Elton Younger, Ervin Younger, and Charlie Younger.

Pete was more than just an Uncle. I knew him as a kid and loved him dearly. I drove up to visit him twice in August and September . Miles apart but he will always be in my heart. We shared special time together and those final visits are in my heart forever. Praying for all my family.

Pete and I were friends in high school
and graduated together in 1967. He was
an outstanding basketball player and I enjoyed playing basketball wth him so much.
He was a good friend and good person.

Pete, I miss you more each minute. You were much more than a husband to me and a father to my children, you were my best friend. even though we we apart the last couple months you were always in my heart and on my mind. every minute of every day. I have the best memories of our life together and all the fun we've had. those memories will see me and our kids through this horrible pain. we all know your in a better place now and in Gods hands. No more pain and suffering for you and we are very gratefull for that. You are loved and always will be forever in our hearts. Rest in peace my best friend!
