Dean Hattle, 88, of West Memphis went to be with his Lord on September 16, 2014.
He loved the Lord and his family and friends; he served as Deacon at Lepanto First Baptist Church, The First Baptist Church of Harrisburg and the First Baptist Church of West Memphis. He served in the U.S. Army with the 61st Battalion and with the occupational troops in the Philippines and was also stationed in Northern Tokyo. His rank was a technical Sargent. He retired from the U. S. Post Office as a Rural Mail Carrier.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrol Edward Hattle and Ruth Susan Bell Hattle, his wife, Marguerite Stott's Hattie, a son Stanley Hattle and a sister, Christine Provost.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan Newman (Gerald) of West Memphis, AR; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Raines(Jason), Tim Newman (Rachel), Aaron Hattle and Sarah Hattle, two great-grandchildren Gabriel Raines and Abby Raines, a brother, Eddie Hattle (Jean) of Marshall, AR; a daughter in-law Janie Hattle of Lepanto, AR; a nephew Hugh Provost (Brenda) of Newport, Ar.

I didn't know Mr. Hattle but if he is anything like his grandson Tim, I know he was a very kind, loving person that always put others before himself. I am very sorry for your loss.

It was a privledge to help care for Mr. Dean and spend time with him in his final months. He was a blessing to be around. He was a beautiful soul and was full of love and gratitude until his final day. He lived a wonderful life and will be deeply missed.

Sorry to learn about your father. He and your Mother were our dear friends for many years. We enjoyed church and camping with them for great times together. We stopped by to see them before your Mother died. We believe she remembered us but not sure if your Dad did. We will be praying for you and your family. We retired and moved to Charlotte 9 years ago.
