D. L. Williams Jr., 81, of Hughes, Arkansas died Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Regional One Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Mr. Williams was a member of the Hughes First United Methodist Church, Farm Manager of Bruins Plantation, Secretary and Treasurer of McGee Planting Company, Chartered member of the Hughes Community Water Board, Democratic Central Committee, former Constable at Horseshoe Lake and coached Little League Baseball and Girls softball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, D. L. Williams Sr. and Mary Kathern McConnel Williams, a son Donnie L. Williams III , and a daughter Tommie June Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Martha June Warner Williams of Hughes, AR; four grandchildren, Blair Brown Houtas, Warner Brown, Parker Reeves, Bailie Reeves Munoz, four great grandchildren, Lew Brown, Audrey Brown, Bella June Brown and Camryn Reeves.
Mrs. Williams you have our condolences with the loss of Mr. D.L. He had been nothing but a true friend and supporter of me. I can say I am a better man because of his guidance and true friendship. I am happy that I continued to keep in contact with you both. I know Mr. DL is looking down on us smiling. He will live on in your heart forever. Please know that my friend Yvonne and I are here if you ever need to talk. We both love you Mrs. Williams. May Mr. DL Rest in Peace my friend. Until we meet again.

My father worked for him on Bruins Plantation. I came to see him last year after moving back from Denver Colorado. I just want to say to his wife. God will see you through. I know he will be missed. Be Blessed!

I was so sorry to hear of D. L.'s death. I will miss seeing Dado at school having lunch with Audrey and Lew. I always enjoyed getting to visit.

Mr. D. L., will surely be missed., we always looked forward to seeing him around the 4th of July, when he came with corn for all the courthouse. He was always so pleasant and loved by all who knew him. We always looked forward to his visits and phone calls.
