Thank you, Julie, for telling me of your Dad's passing. I have years of great memories with Brian as he was growing up. He always went to church with us.
My thoughts are with both of you at this difficult time. Please also extend my condolences to his wife, Doris.
Julie...this goes back so many years! Marilyn (Sister) called me when she read about Wayne and the memories in & after NLRHS will not be forgotten. High school sweethearts all thru our years at school. Marilyn & Bill Cavender, his family, Wayne's family and mine were all "family" and it was wonderful years. I saw you last in Sherwood. Sometime I will go through all the pictures and send you the ones of Wayne if you'll contact me with your address. my phone number is 336 972-9874 or email me.. Love and prayers to you and your brother. Wayne was a wonderful man.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Wayne was a close family friend.
I remember when I was little, my mom would make angel food cake and would leave a piece for him in our mailbox. We'd always know when he got it because he'd either turn on the blue lights on his patrol car or he would hit his siren for a second.
He was also in the same CB club as my parents and I knew him as Bear when I was a little girl.
He will be greatly missed. He had a huge heart and always listened when I needed to talk.
I got to work with Mr.James as his speech therapist. He was a very kind and sweet man. He was always joking around with us in therapy and we will all miss him dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
Doris & Family,
Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Wayne. Wayne was one my dearest friends. He was an extraordinary man. There are many in the community of Sherwood who will mourn deeply his passing, as his was a life of service, love, compassion and excellence. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Much love and sympathy.
Wayne was one of three men that gave me my start at Sherwood in 1985. Early after the academy I was dispatched to a hostage situation, he came from home, had he not, the results might not have been the same. With his experience we were able to apprehend the suspect with his wife released unharmed. The man committed suicide 3 days later so he was serious! I learned a lot from Wayne and he covered for me more than once in my career. I went on to be the Assistant Chief and retire. He will be missed and my prayers and condolences go out to his family. I'm sorry I missed the funeral I just found out of his passing today. He will be on my mind and in my heart and he is in the loving arms of the Lord now.
Sorry for your loss Julie. You and your family are in my prayers.
