Dallas P. ''Bud'' Johnson, 82, of Scranton, Arkansas passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born October 10, 1931 in Sallis, Mississippi to his parents, Johnny C. Johnson and Velma Estelle (Farrell) Johnson. He was married on December 27, 1952 and is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Margaret (Etzkorn) Johnson. He was retired as Postmaster of Scranton, AR. He was a disabled American Veteran of the Army and retired after 21 years of service. He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, and VFW Post in Scranton. Dallas (Bud) enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting playing cards and visiting the casinos. Most of all he cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dallas experimented with growing exotic vegetables. He was believed to be the first to grow habanero peppers in the Scranton area. His tomatoes were the biggest and best in town and he readily shared the excess with others. His Monday night buddies at Knights of Columbus will particularly miss him. There was never a dull moment when Bud was playing at the table.

Dallas was preceded in death by his son, John Daniel Johnson; his parents, Johnny C. Johnson and Velma Estelle (Farrell) Johnson, his brother John Robert Johnson and sister Leanna Gray of Mississippi.

He is survived by his six daughters, Donna Keyser and husband, Doug of Jacksonville, AR; Valarie Ross and husband, Stuart of Glenwood Springs, CO; Mary Lou Johnson and Suzanne Price of Centerton, AR; Sharon Johnson of Scranton; Paula Siebenmorgen and husband, David of Scranton, and Darlene Castille and husband, Jody of Conroe, TX; three sons, Dwight Johnson and wife, Debra of Eureka Springs, AR; Michael Johnson and wife, Susan of Scranton, AR and Timothy Johnson and wife, Donna of Fayetteville, AR; two sisters, Dally ''Sis'' Lepard his twin sister of Sallis, Mississippi and Mandy Jean Bingham of Kosciusko, MS; three brother-in-laws, Tony Etzkorn of Fayetteville NC, Raymond Etzkorn of Brown, IL, and Arthur Etzkorn and wife Karen of Fort Smith, AR. He is survived by his loving grandchildren, Melissa Dietz, Mark Johnson, Amanda Bean, Allison Spilman, Michael Johnson, Justin Johnson, Jodi Kusturin, Jeffery Johnson, Joy Mims, Jessica Johnson, Chad Faulkner, Nicholas Keyser, Trevor Keyser, Sara Siebenmorgen, Evan Siebenmorgen, Mary Siebenmorgen, Anna Siebenmorgen, Luke Siebenmorgen, Christopher Castille, Johnathan Castille; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Olivia, Tucker, Natalie, Matalyn, Brooks, Lorien, Ethan, Isaac, Lily, Abby, Heiden, Gabriel, Timothy , Landon, James III, Jolianne, Mason, Collin and Carson.

Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Father Josely Kalathil, I.M.S., and Fr. Barnabas Maria Susai I.M.S. officiating. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.

Pallbearers will be, Justin Johnson, Jeffery Johnson, Mark Johnson, Mike Johnson, Chad Faulkner, Evan Siebenmorgen, Nick Keyser and Trevor Keyser.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Christopher Castille, Johnathan Castille, Gerald ''Curly'' Neumeier, Ross Rogers, Frank ''Bud'' Kremer and his Card-Playing Buddies.
