Theresa Adele Hendricks

of Little Rock, AR

August 2, 2014

On August 2, 2014 Theresa Adele Hendricks was called to God while asleep at home.

Theresa was born on January 9, 1957 to John C. and Vivian "Sue" Lisemby in Pine Bluff Arkansas. She graduated from White Hall High School and attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She was a lifelong member of White Hall Methodist Church.

Theresa was a gifted singer and accomplished piano player. She could listen to any song and play it on the piano within ten minutes. She once flirted with becoming the ''next big thing'' in country music, and was given an award by the Arkansas Songwriters Association. She abandoned any interest in a career in music when she thought it conflicted with her devotion to her family.

Theresa's real love and true passion was her family. She married the love of her life, Brad Lowber Hendricks, on June 20, 1981. Brad and Theresa were partners, sweethearts, and best friends in every way. Theresa gave birth to the light of her life, Savannah Renée Hendricks, on September 26, 1996. Theresa spent the rest of her life totally dedicated to loving and caring for her husband and daughter. Her life as a mother was awe inspiring. She cherished her role and performed it with boundless energy and vitality. Theresa's compassion and devotion to her daughter and husband were the foundation of this tight-knit family. She provided the environment and support for her family to achieve their maximum happiness. She never ceased to amaze those around her by the true devotion and dedication to her daughter, her husband, and those she loved. Brad adamantly credits Theresa with the founding and success of his law firm. He often says: "I could not have done it without her. Period."

Anyone who met Theresa was immediately struck by her caring for others. She was held in the highest regard by everyone who knew her. She put everyone's needs before her own. She always volunteered to help family, friends, and even strangers, and never expected or wanted anything in return. She shunned praise for her gracious acts of kindness and generosity. Those who knew her will never forget her endless love, smile, laughter, determination, devotion, humility, brilliance and extraordinary kindness.

She is survived by her father John C. Lisemby, her brother Richard Alan Lisemby, her husband Brad Lowber Hendricks, and their daughter Savannah Renée Hendricks. She was preceded in death by her mother, Vivian "Sue" Lisemby , and her sister, Dianne Lisemby Lampkin.

Theresa's life will be celebrated in a ceremony on August 16, 2014 in Little Rock, where musical performers from Georgia, Arkansas and Texas will pay tribute to her through their music. A traditional service will be held at White Hall Methodist Church on August 23, 2014. Arrangements by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas (501) 224-8300.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Theresa's name to The American Heart Association.

I met Theresa many years ago while my son Hunter was attending Pulaski Academy. We had many fun times in car line as all of us moms would pile into one car and talk about our days ( kids, husbands, latest fashion trends, etc.) trying to figure out life together. We had many laughs together. Theresa was such a delightful soul. She was one of the most caring, compassionate, giving people that I have ever met. I know she struggled with her health but she was always able to put others first and bring a smile to everyones faces. Brad and Savannah I know she loved dearly as she talked about you all often beaming with pride and joy. Theresa will be deeply missed by all who's lives she touched. I'm sorry for your loss. Psalms 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who's spirits are crushed.

I've always heard that you will only make about 3-4 really good friends in your lifetime that will be there for you no matter what. In my lifetime I have been so blessed to have called Theresa one of those such friends. We shared a lot of fun times together from 1978 to present. My only regret is the short time we were able to talk last month when she called after returning from Bonnaroo. She was so special to so many people. What a testimony of love that is evidenced in this guestbook. My heart goes out to the people closest to her, her husband and daughter, father and brother, who will miss her like crazy but will always feel her wind beneath their wings. RIP my friend. I will forever miss you!!!

Theresa and I were best friends all through school from elementary to high school and I loved her dearly. We used to have so much fun running around acting silly. And we loved banging on the piano at her mom and dad's house. She played by ear and could sing as well. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. I pray for peace for Savannah and Brad and family. God has a new angel in heaven to sing for all. RIP Theresa!

A ray of sunshine has been lost to all of us on earth. I know she is continuing her "free spirit" way. My heart goes out to her family for their great loss. Will miss her and her great stories.

I am at a loss for words. I considered Teresa to be my oldest, dearest friend. She was my best friend when I went to school in Arkansas my 10th grade year, and she was in the 9th grade. She had the car and we used to love cruising on
Cherry street and in White Hall. We stayed in touch for 42 years. I didn't get to see her very often as I live and work in Alaska. We were going to do more things together when I retired. She had the most beautiful, southern drawl I have ever heard. To her, I was the 'Eskimo". I used to get pictures of Savannah, her daughter, who she loved more than anything in the world. She was so proud of her husband Brad who ran a successful law firm. I grieve for her husband and daughter who lost such a great lady. Life is so cruel and unfair. I know she is in heaven. Love you forever Teresa. Dorothy

I will always remember you as that young beautiful girl with long curly blond hair and long lanky legs running over to greet us when you saw me pull into the drive way! You were so full of life and could easily capture anyone's heart with that big smile and those beautifull eyes! I can picture you in heaven, dancing, holding hands with your beloved Mother and Diane singing and playing beautiful music! Rest in Peace sweet Theresa! You will always be thought of and remembered as a kind and gentle soul!
