Treva Nell Garrison, age 95, of Harrison, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, at The Highlands of Harrison at Tims. She was born in Jenny Lind, Arkansas December 17, 1918, to the late Lola and Marvin Blaylock. In addition to her parents and husband Grady, Treva was preceded in death by an infant son, Jim Owen Garrison; her sister, Mary Ellen Jones; and her brother, Marvin Blaylock, Jr.
Treva married Grady Glen Garrison November 18, 1945, and they were happily married for 44 years until he passed away in 1989. She retired from McKesson where she worked as a secretary for 15 years. She previously worked for the public school system and the Chamber of Commerce, both in Ft. Smith.
Treva loved spending time outdoors and loved to knit. She was well known for her many Christmas stockings she would knit for new additions to the family and for friends. She also enjoyed her volunteer work at Miss Laura's Visitor's Center.
Treva is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Lela Garrison, of Harrison; her granddaughter, Christy Sams and husband Randy of Fayetteville; her sister and brother-in-law, Eloise and Dan Rogers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
The family of Treva Garrison wishes to thank the staff of Harrison Retirement Center and The Highlands of Harrison at Tims for their kindness and care during her stay at those facilities.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Goddard United Methodist Church, 1922 Dodson Avenue, Ft. Smith, AR 72901 or the charity of your choice.
There was visitation at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison.
The funeral service was Thursday, July 31, at Goddard United Methodist Church in Ft. Smith. Rev. Kim Cloninger of Goddard will be officiating.
Pallbearers were Randy Sams, Jim Newman, George Staton and Jimi Patton.
Burial was in Ft. Smith National Cemetery.

We were so sorry to hear of Treva's passing. She was such a lovely, sweet lady. She and Grady were good friends of my parents for so many years. It is just so sad for me. Thinking of you and praying you find peace and comfort during this time.
