Charles Newton OffenbackerI am a Veteran.

of Marion County, AR

September 8, 1929 - July 11, 2014

Charles Newton Offenbacker, age 84, of Marion County, Arkansas, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, at home with his wife Mitsy by his side. He was born September 8, 1929, in Gaither, Arkansas, the son of Earl and Sally (Hensley) Offenbacker. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ernest and Richard Offenbacker; and a sister, Dorothy Methvin.

Charles married Mitsy on October 1, 1952, in Naha, Okinawa while stationed there with the US Army. After 20 years of service and an honorable discharge from the Army in 1969, they settled in Marion County. Charles, along with his family, raised cattle. During part of that time he was a member of the Beefmasters Association. He was a faithful minister in the Christ-Life Fellowship. Charles was a man of integrity whose work ethic led him to approach each task with complete commitment.

Mr. Offenbacker is survived by his wife, Mitsy; a daughter, Linda Offenbacker, of Carrollton, Texas; three sons, Raymond Offenbacker and his wife Lisa of Benton, Arkansas, Wayne Offenbacker of St. Joseph, Michigan, and James Offenbacker of Harrison, and four grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, Hannah and Aaron Offenbacker. He is also survived by two sisters, Wanda Melton of Lead Hill and Sue Burns of Harrison; and a brother, Donald Offenbacker, of Clarksville, AR.

Funeral service was Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Gerry Billson officiating.

Interment was at Anderson Flat Cemetery.

Family and friends served as pallbearers.

What wonderful memories we have of Charlie and Mitsy -- going back years! They enriched our lives as they did many people whom they came in contact with. We'll join Charlie before long in the corridors of the Father's House.
