Iva Fern Taylor

of Conway, AR

July 15, 1940 - June 23, 2014

Iva Fern Taylor, age 73 of Conway, Arkansas passed from this life on Monday, June 23, 2014 at home in Conway. She was born in Marshall, Arkansas on July 15, 1940 to James Edgar Ragland and Myrtle Iva (Jackson) Ragland.

Iva was a wonderful Christian lady who believed in her Lord and enjoyed reading her bible at home. She enjoyed being outdoors and she loved to paint, draw and take pictures. The comforting words of a cousin explain the simple life of Ms. Iva the best. She was a shy, pure, sweet person who never said more than a couple of sentences when she did speak in her soft, quiet voice. Iva always had a smile on her face and a hug to offer to family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, June Hester and Lavern Roach; brothers, Louis Ragland, Marvin Ragland and Winston Ragland; and husband, James Taylor.

Survivors include her two sons, Alan Taylor and Eddie Taylor, both of Conway; one daughter, Carrie Taylor of Conway; grandchildren, Brandy LeAnn (Stephen) Hunt, Casey Lynn Taylor, Layla Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Jessie James, Nicole James and Laura Borough; great grandchildren, Owen Taylor Hunt, Logan Hunt, Angel Elizabeth Taylor, Hailey Waddle, Hayden Waddle, Blake Dennis, Dakota James, Brooklyn James and Zachery James; siblings, Sue (Charles) Finney, Madge Reid, Roger (Polly) Ragland, Eutaw (Debbie) Ragland, Eileen (Ronnie) Barrett and Beverly (Gene) Morrison; and a host of family and friends who will also mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Iva will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Donald Patterson officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 PM preceding the service. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery near Marshall, Arkansas. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Thinking of all of you at this time of your loss. My clearest memory of Iva is seeing her walk and talk with Carolyn and Virginia along the road leading to our house and of the three of them making leis or necklaces of daisies to put around their necks.

To all of Iva's family:

Iva was and will remain a most special friend and cousin of my life. We shared many walks and talks, old movies late at night at my house, and stories about boys we had crushes on. Many times we shared long walks to the "Pour Off" waterfall for picinics and a dip in the pool of water.
I was so happy to see her two years ago at the family. reunion. I deeply regret that I did not stay in contact with her for the last two years. I had hoped I would see her this Summer, and that we could have some long talks. I had even thought of things I wanted to talk to her about, and of questions I would ask. Time is so precious! I feel a great loss knowing I will never see her again in this world. Goodbye for now, and I love you Special Cousin.
