Obie D. Sanson, 82, of Mayflower, AR, passed from this life on June 21, 2014. He was born on November 3, 1931 to the late Newton and Ruthie (Aycock) Sanson in Mayflower. Obie attended Mayflower United Pentecostal Church, enjoyed gardening, and was a state champion checker player. On July 6, 1954, he married the love of his life, Ms. Edith Call and together had three children.
Obie is survived by his children; Debbie Smith (Frank), Connie Smith (Richard), and Bradley Sanson (Vicki), five grandchildren; Obie Pelc, Jeremiah Smith, Jennifer Richards, Rachel Sanson, and Megan Sanson , eight great-grandchildren; Brianna, Kaylee, Kira , Season, Nova, Alexis, Jakob, and Jewlia, one sister; Elizabeth Wells, two brothers; Carl Densmore and Arthur Sanson, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife Edith, brothers; Jerry and Jesse Sanson, sister; Opal Wooten, and grandson; Matthew Smith.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 3 pm at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with burial to follow at Mayflower Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm at the Funeral Home.
