Sue Whitehead

of Conway, AR

November 26, 1947 - June 19, 2014

Sue Whitehead, 66, of Conway, AR passed from this life on June 19, 2014 after a courageous 33 month long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on November 26, 1947 to the late Albert & Dorothy Sayers in Avenel, Massachusetts. Sue loved many things in life, but to those who knew her, her family was her true love in life. She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren; picking them up after school, taking them to play at the park, going shopping with them, and their trips to Orange Beach and Yellowstone National Park. Sue loved her family and will be missed by every one of them deeply. She was a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a degree in Business Administration and was a faithful Christian.

Sue is survived by her loving husband Roy Whitehead of Conway, two sons; Jeff Whitehead and wife Jennifer of Conway, and David Whitehead and wife Sarah of North Little Rock, seven grandchildren; Olivia Whitehead and Hannah Whitehead of Conway, Anna Whitehead, Joe Whitehead, Maggie Whitehead, Anthony Whitehead, and John David Whitehead all of North Little Rock, and many other loving family members and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Joseph Chapel in Conway, AR on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10am. Rosary will be at 6 pm Friday, June 20, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with visitation scheduled to follow.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sue Tsuda and all of the care givers who took such good care of her at Conway Regional and Heritage Living Center.

I remember seeing Sue walk to and from school when we were high school students together many decades ago in New Jersey. Although I did not know her well in those years, I would later be privileged to get to know her better over the past 10 or 15 years through our group of Mountain HS graduates. She was ever thoughtful, ever kind, ever positive, and a joy to know. Sue, thank you for your life and your contributions to ours.

Our sincere condolences to you, Roy, and your family. I worked with Sue at FMC for years and enjoyed the interaction with her there. I only saw her a few times after she retired, but she was always the same gracious lady I'd known - always with a thoughtful yet quick smile and a kind word.

The world is a much poorer place for her passing. May God hold each of you in His hand and give you comfort.

Dear Roy and family,
I, too, am a member of Sue's email group of Mountain High School graduates. Sue and I, along with other friends, used to walk to school together in the mornings. I remember Sue as a lovely girl who was quiet, calm, friendly and thoughtful. We lost touch after graduation. I remember that she moved away not long after that...but I was happy to re-acquaint with her via computer. I've seen numerous FaceBook posts in which she provided us with pictures of you and her grandchildren, and I've enjoyed seeing photos of your trips to Yellowstone. I extend my most sincere sympathies to you all. I am happy that I had a chance to share Sue with all of you.

Sue and I graduated high school together in 1965 and after the Internet became popular sometime after the mid 80's a small group of us began keeping in touch with each other. We shared a growing relationship that became an important part of our lives. We all know that none of us will escape the fate of the cycle of life. We are all born and we all live and we all die. When we look at the dates printed on her headstone, the part that we need to remember is the tiny dash between the dates. That dash reminds us of all the memories that she has created, many of which include us and our long term relationship. We pray that her spirit is in the hands of her Lord and Savior and he allows her to rest in eternal peace. With Love and Respect,
Ira
