I have so much admired my brother for his walk in faith with the Lord. He was and still is an example of Christ living through us. Was he perfect, of course not, but in seemingly every situation or circumstance that I witnessed and every trial that I witnessed that he went through, he always depended on our Lord rather that himself or anyone else. This was never more true than the last few weeks of his life as he struggled, I never heard a discouraging word or a complaint regarding his trials. My brother taught me a lot these last few weeks and I am so thankful for his Godly example of what it means to walk in the spirit rather than in the flesh. I love you my brother, I will miss you greatly, our hearts are broken but like you I know that God is in control. I will not say goodbye because this is not forever, I will only say good night because I will with the help and grace of God, see you again. Rest well my brother and my friend.
My family will never forget "Uncle David", as he was known! I am glad we had the opportunity to have him in our home several times with Grandpa Dean. We love you, Uncle David!
