William Roy Corter, 88, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014. William was born on June 30, 1925 in Big Flat, Arkansas to Thomas Edgar and Bevie Lou (Brewer) Corter. William was a member of Levisy Flat Christian Fellowship Church as well as a retired construction worker.
William is survived by his wife, Joyce Naomi Corter of the home; two sons, Danny Dale Corter and wife Janice L. Corter of Mountain View, Arkansas and Billy Darrell Corter and wife Jennifer L. Corter of Cave City, Arkansas; one daughter, Linda Darlene Avey and husband Rick Avey of Timbo, Arkansas; two sisters, Dessie Moody of Truman, Arkansas and Gwen Thompson and husband Dwane Thompson of Batesville, Arkansas; as well as five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edgar and Bevie Lou (Brewer) Corter; one daughter, Bonnie Jean Corter; four brothers; one sister, and one great-grandson.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 6-8PM at Roller Coffman Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, beginning at 10:00AM also at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Officiating the service are Brother Leonard Tharp and Brother Allen Cartwright.
Interment will be at Levisy Flat Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Chris Corter, Matt Avey, Rick Corter, Tony Corter, Johnny Corter, and Ed Thompson. Honorary pallbearers are Dalton Corter, Hershel Corter, Steve Moody, Tim Moody, Joe Moody, Thomas Corter, Dean Corter, James Pagan, Dr. James Zini, and Harold Lancaster.
