Linda Kay Johnston, 60, of Little Rock, passed away in her home at 10:49 PM on Sunday, April 20, 2014 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Linda had a kind heart and a gentle soul. Her love for life was evident. She lived her life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by so many. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother who doted on her nine grandchildren. She never met a stranger and became best friends with everyone she encountered. As an excellent chef, she often showed her love for people by cooking their favorite meals. She loved to entertain at her home, and her home was often full of close friends. We should all feel grateful that she is in the arms of our Heavenly Father and thankful she now plays golf in the most beautiful place possible.
Linda was an avid golfer; she served as president of the ladies golf association at North Hills Country Club of Arkansas and Chenal Country Club. When her children were young she was awarded parent of the year by North Little Rock school district and served as president of PTA for multiple years.
She is survived by her husband, Mark; two daughters, Sondra Corcoran and husband, Brian, of Bella Vista and Sarah McGarl and husband, James, of Atlanta, GA; stepson, Joel Newman, and wife, Lori, of Sherwood; two stepdaughters, Amy Lepper and husband, Marc, and Katy Green and husband, Daniel, all of Tulsa, OK; in-laws, Willard and Nelda Johnston of Tulsa, OK; and nine grandchildren: Katelyn and Jacob Corcoran, Matthew and Caroline McGarl, Hannah and Haylee Newman, Andrew and Owen Green, and Allison Lepper.
A Celebration of Linda's life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 N. Shackleford Road, Little Rock, AR 72211, Phone: (501) 376-3071. Arrangements are being handled by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211, Phone: 501-224-8300.

I've known you for all my life and its hard to believe that you're gone. You have always been an amazing grandmother and you will always make the best brownies! I hope you're up in heaven young and healthy playing golf with your family. I love you Nina.
Sondra and Sarah,
We remember your Mother well from her time in Indian Hills from PTA and golf. I remember seeing her drive around in her little blue baby Benz. She was always involved for the good of others whether it was school or some other cause for children. She was a kind and generous lady. We are sorry for your loss. Matt and Russell have fond memories of your Mother. She will be missed by all.
The Roberson family,

I met Linda one time and knew right off what a wonderful person she is. The support and love she has for her children or grandchildren was amazing. I wish i was able to get to know her more. I always heard wonderful things. I know she will be truely missed by all who knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
Heaven has gained an angel. An honor to have met her and you guys. Praying for a peace and comfort during this time.
Although I only met Linda a couple of times, I knew she was an amazing lady. Sarah, I am so glad I was able to meet your mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love, Caryn
Sarah,
I have thought about you and your Mom since Kris called me. The four of us had such good times together and she was always a better Mother, never turning your girls down on anything you wanted or anywhere you wanted to go. NLR girls would not have had soccer without her avid support. Love you and my heart hurts so much for you! Karon
We are so sorry for your loss. I know Linda will be greatly missed by all of her family and

I will always love and miss Linda for many reasons. One of the best being the time I played with her in one of the LGA "events" and, en route to shooting over 100 with many lost balls, she encouraged me by assuring me that "At least I was still taking a good rip at the ball". I laughed and it made me feel better because she appreciated that that was important to me. We will miss her dearly at Friday night couples and just being a smiling face around Chenal.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during your time of loss. We hope you find comfort in the many wonderful memories you shared with Linda.
So blessed to know you Linda!
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Linda was such a kind and sweet lady. We had lots of fun times on the golf course. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time. She will be greatly missed by so many people.
Linda.
What an inspiration you were as a neighbor, friend and cousin. Your plate was always full and you never neglected the smallest detail or any one. You were devoted to all of your family, friends, and stood by your commitments. I was so blessed by your spirit, I know it lives on in paradise, doing great things.
May Mark and All the Family Find comfort in all the smiles and memories.
Love you Dear Friend.
Mark and Family,
You are in our prayers and know that this is a very difficult time for all of you. Linda has enriched all of our lives as she is one of the sweetest, kindest, loving and joyful persons I have ever met. She has a huge generous heart for everyone. We will miss her laugh and smiling face and know that we will see her again one day. We love you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
We were not strangers for long after meeting Linda at Sarah and James' wedding. She was obviously a lover of people, especially her family. And the love she gave was so lovingly returned by her daughter(s). Sarah, may you and all your family be comforted by sweet memories.
"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:" (Proverbs 31:28)
Even though we haven't seen each other in many years, I always loved you as my sister-in-law and remember when your brother and I moved you and your mom back home to Texas from CA in the late 60's when you were a teenager. We love you and your daughters so much, and are glad that we all reconnected via Facebook over the past few years.
It breaks my heart that you're gone Nina. You were the most wonderful grandmother to me and we share so many memories. I am so grateful that God made you MY Nina for all these years. You loved everybody and were always making people happy. I promise to do all I can to be just like you. I love you so much and will miss you everyday of my life. I'll see you again before we know it. But until then, I know you're watching over me. <3
A wonderful friend for 24 years. Have so many fun memories of Linda and will miss her greatly.
If there is a golf course in Heaven, we'll finish our competition - you and I. Mark you are in our prayers during this difficult time. God Bless !!
