Obeta Jones, age 89 of Harrison, Arkansas, formerly of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison, Arkansas. She was born in Tomahawk, Arkansas on January 26, 1925 to Virgil A. Yarbrough and Ella (Watts) Yarbrough.
Obeta was a member of the East Lawn Freewill Baptist Church in Marshall, Arkansas. She was a clothing storeowner for over 30 years. Later she worked for Ozark Opportunities. Obeta was a hard worker, wonderful homemaker and an avid canner. She was a faithful ministers wife and served along side him during his years as a minister.
Her husband Brother Paul Jones; an infant son, Danny Paul Jones; and one brother, Dale Yarbrough, precede Obeta in death.
Survivors include two sons, Rickey Jones of Marshall and Brother Steve Jones and wife Betty of Pangburn; daughter, Shirley Battershell and husband Scotty of Harrison; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one sister, Juanita Eppling of Bella Vista.
Services for Obeta will be 2:30 PM Monday, March 24, 2014 at East Lawn Freewill Baptist Church in Marshall, Arkansas with Brother Alan Yarbrough and Brother Mickel Jones officiating. Music will be by Jim Morrison. Visitation will be 3:00 till 5:00 PM Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Marshall, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Don Yarbrough, Heath Yarbrough, Brent Barrow, Kyle Yarbrough, Jason Yarbrough and Gerald Taylor. Honorary pallbearer will be Lester Smith.
So sorry for your loss. Obeta was a Christian lady who loved her family. She will be missed by many. God be with you all during this time of sorrow. Blessings, Nancy

Dear Ricky and family - what a surprise to see your mom on here Ricky. Last time I saw her she was doing ok. So very sorry to hear this. It saddens me so when our loved ones pass on in the Watts family.
Just remember - God knows your pain and also Obeta is with out pain now. Look to Him and He will give you great comfort.
