Irvin Lewis McKittrick, 83, of Conway died Saturday March 15, 2014, at his home.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Barbara, his son; Michael of Atlanta, Georgia and his brother in law; Jim Olson (Deanne) of Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Irvin was born August 30, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Benjamin and Rosella McKittrick Turner (Arthur). He was preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth and Eugene McKittrick.
Mr. McKittrick was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Conway. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the United States Air Force. Irv was very active in Habitat for Humanity, an avid toy collector, woodworker and he loved helping others.
The ''Double Nickel,'' as he was known by his auctioning friends, spent many happy hours at area antique and flea markets.
Irv graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS Degree in electrical engineering. He worked for several defense contractors developing aircraft photo-reconnaissance systems for the Air Force and Navy. He also worked supporting NASA with photo mapping for the Apollo and Skylab programs.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 18, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 19, 2014 at 2:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Conway with Rev. Howard Reed officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please celebrate his life by donating to the building fund at First Presbyterian Church of Conway, 2400 Prince Street Conway, Arkansas 72032.
