Robert M. ''Bob'' Railey, 95, of Fifty Six, Arkansas passed away in Calico Rock, Arkansas on February 22, 2014. He was born on August 19, 1918 in Bossier Parish, Louisiana to Robert McConnell and Gertrude (Boney) Railey.

A Navy veteran of World War II, Bob's PT boat evacuated the president of the Philippines upon the Japanese invasion of that country in the early 40s. His career as a machinist culminated with 34 years at Cities Service Gas Company. Over several decades, he served First Church of God in Valley Center, KS as an usher, Board of Trustee member, Sunday School Superintendent, and all around handyman.

Robert is survived by one son, Robert Railey and wife Linda of Des Moines, Iowa; two daughters, Martha Railey of Rolla, Missouri and Mary Railey of Wichita, Kansas; one brother, Bill Railey of Gladstone, Missouri; two granddaughters, Ruth Railey and husband Tim Diehl and Renee Railey and husband Nick Grossenback; one nephew, Randy Railey; and one sister-in-law, Betty Kiel both of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gertrude (Boney) Railey, his wife of 65 years, Lillie Green Railey; one brother, Jack Railey; and one sister, Emma Munroe.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 10-11AM at Roller Coffman Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 11:00AM also at the Roller Coffman Chapel. Brother Gary Ragland is officiating. Interment will be at Fifty Six Cemetery in Fifty Six, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Tim Diehl, Nick Grossenbach, Bill Railey, Randy Railey, Herbert Gosser, and Dwight Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are the men of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to College of the Ozarks, Alumni Scholarship Fund, PO Box 17, Point Lookout, MO, 65726; or the First Church of God, 583 West First, Valley Center, KS, 67147.
