Royce Edward Martin, Jr. 78, died on February 3, 2014 at Batesville Hospital. He was born September 16, 1935 in Adair, Iowa to the late Mary (Schlenker) Martin and Royce Martin, Sr.

He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in his teens and continued faithful all his life. He was a pioneer for many years and helped in building Kingdom Halls of Jehovah's Witnesses.

He has two sisters, Georgeian and her Husband John Kappan of Oskaloosa, Iowa. Rose Mullins who is deceased. Two brothers, Richard and his wife Karen Martin of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Dennis and wife Debra Martin of Elkhart, Iowa.

Before he took sick he enjoyed fishing, farming, working on machines and most of all helping others to know about his God Jehovah. He had been a farmer for many years and drove a school bus in What Cheer, Iowa for 13 years.


He had been bed ridden for the last 6 years and enjoyed the company of the many aids who helped care for him such as Willie Pilley, Danita Pastrana, and Bill Cooper. He also enjoyed the many who visited him.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Wilma (West, Parks) Martin; a son, Jeff Martin and his wife of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter, Lorie and her husband of Oriental, North Carolina and granddaughter, Amber Dawn. Three step daughters, Tammy and her husband Kerry Mullins and their three children: Joshua Mullins and his son Jon, Rachel and her husband Harley Leeps and their two children, Haylee and Logan. The youngest daughter Jessica Mullin's. All of Des Moines, Iowa. Janet and her husband Mike Edmiston and their two boys: Travis and Tracy Edmiston. All of Des Moines, Iowa. Betty and her husband Mark Walraven and their daughter Christina Walraven all of Mountain View, Arkansas.

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness of Mountain View, Arkansas on March 15, 2014 at 1:00PM.
