J.D. Knight Jr. of Scranton, Arkansas passed away on January 7, 2014 in Scranton. He was born on January 26, 1933 in Prairie View, Arkansas to his parents J.D. and Mary Lucille (Rogers) Knight Sr.. J.D. was a cattle farmer, a member of the Prairie View United Methodist Church, Tri-County water board, American Legion and a past member of the Lions Club of Scranton. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Mary Lucille Knight.
He is survived by his wife of 55 Years Ann Knight; two sons, Joe Knight and Roger Knight both of Scranton, Arkansas; one daughter Sonia Eckelhoff and husband Will of Greenwood, Arkansas; sister, Katsy Jones and husband Winfred of Prairie View, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Kristie Eckelhoff and Derek Eckelhoff and wife Katie; one great-grandchild, Henry Eckelhoff; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Prairie View United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Earl Carter. Burial will follow in Prairie View Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Will Eckelhoff, Derek Eckelhoff, Kristie Eckelhoff, Ross Rogers, Tony Rogers and Dan Eckelhoff.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Donald Hixson, Dallas Johnson, David Rogers, Jerry Koerdt, Jim Jones, Ahne's Coffee group and Tri-County Water Board Members.

So sorry to hear of J D's passing. He was Mr. Scranton. I was privileged to meet Mr. J D when he and I worked for ARVAC. I had a great deal of respect for him. My prayers are for your family. Sorry due to illness i could not attend services. May God bless you.
