Ronald Gene Phillips, 60 of Roanoke, Texas passed away on January 4, 2014 in Roanoke. He was born on May 28, 1953 in Paris, Arkansas to his parents Bobby Gene and Mazie (Fairbanks) Phillips. He received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University and his Masters Degree in Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a successful business owner, a member of First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas and an Air National Guard Veteran.

He is preceded in death by his father Bobby Gene Phillips and his brother Jerry Phillips.
He is survived by his daughter, Becca Clarke and husband Matthew of Justin, Texas; sons, Evan Phillips of Roanoke, Texas and Rayburn Phillips and wife April of Watauga, Texas; Ben Elder of Justin, Texas and Mathew Clarke of Justin, Texas whom he always considered as his sons; mother, Mazie Phillips of Paris, Arkansas; brothers, David Phillips of Paris, Arkansas and Rick Phillips of Paris, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Breanna, Jr., Katelyn, Josh and Marshall; two nieces and four nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Don Alexander. Burial will follow in Paint Rock Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jacky Hayward, Donnie Fairbanks, Danny Fairbanks, Robert Valentine, Shane Phillips and David Owen Phillips.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Elder, Bryan Killion, Evan Phillips, Matthew Clarke, Steve Clarke, Bill Fairbanks, Bobby Parks and Adam Valentine.

Aunt Mazie and family,
