John Earl Jones, 84 of Magazine, Arkansas passed away on January 1, 2014 in Magazine. He was born on August 22, 1929 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to his parents, Emmit and Mamie Sue (Nee Selvidge) Jones. He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic and operator and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 3.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmit and Mamie Sue Jones; one daughter, Victoria Noreen Bourdeau; four sisters, Mary Margaret Carter, Phyllis Florence Beason, Betty Lou Bernard and Dolly Ann Mosley and two brothers, Pat Martin Jones and Francis Ray ''Buddy'' Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years Peggy Jones of Magazine; two daughters, Nancy Lynn Long of Alma, Arkansas and Lisa Shell Marie Trehern of Magazine, Arkansas; four sons, Michael Jones of Orland, California, Paul Eugene Anderson of Tracy, California, Arn Roman Anderson of Stockton, California and Larry Dewayne Biggs of Dickson, Oklahoma; three sisters, Wilma Nell Gibson of Livermore, California, Sue Cooper of Paris, Arkansas and Carolyn Kay Dickson of Texas; one brother, Jack Lawrence Jones of Charleston, Arkansas and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris officiated by Elder James Isaacs under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
