Eugene Frank Jasper, 96, of Paris, Arkansas passed away peacefully Friday, July 12, 2013 in Paris. He was born on September 20, 1916 in Subiaco, Arkansas to his parents, Henry and Mary (Schmaltz) Jasper in Subiaco. He was an active member of St. Benedict's Parish in Subiaco and served as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He was a farmer, a rancher, a painter, and a veteran of WWII.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carley in 1975. He is survived by six children; Becky Harkey and husband Bryan of Paris, Arkansas; Chris Jasper and wife Susan of Cummings, Georgia; Tim Jasper of Lewisville, Texas; Mark Jasper and wife Greta of Rogers, Arkansas; Greg Jasper and wife Julie of Harrison, Arkansas; and Kathy Jasper and Brian Nakata of Beaverton, OR; along with 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church. Graveside service will be at St. Benedict's Cemetery immediately following, officiated by Fr. Aaron Pirrera, OSB, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers are his grandchildren, Adam Harkey, Michael Jasper, Scott Jasper, Zachary Jasper, and Jeremy Webb, and friends Ronnie Tencleve, Tom Frederick, and James Albert Komp.
So sorry to hear about your dad. I always thought of him as a good man and a leader in our church and community. He always had a kind word to say to me. It was evident that he loved you kids and you all loved him. Prayers are with you to help you get through this sad time. He will be missed!

Dear Becky, Bryan and family, Sorry for the loss of your father. I always thought of him as a good family and community spirited person, most of all a child of God. Due to Milton's illness I will not be able to attend services, but I will keep you and your family in prayer. God bless you.

Dear Becky and Bryan and family I am so sorry to read of the passing of ur father. I didn't really know him but he had to of been very special man to have raised such a king daughter as u Becky. I pray that u and all ur siblings and relatives will find some peace during this time of sorry. It is never easy to give up a loved one but as ur friend I will continue to keep you in my prayers. My memories of Gene will always remain with me.
He was my uncle and I spent many summers during my childhood with him and my grandparents on the farm. He was a good man and loved his family dearly.
My prayers are with all of them.

I have lots of memories of Gene and about Gene. He was my godfather.
I had never ever seen him without a big smile. He always made me laugh. Gene was precious.
So sorry to hear of Uncle Gene's passing - we were hoping he'd live to 100. He had a wonderful fun sense of humor, which will be sadly missed. So glad we got to visit with him last summer. Prayers and condolence to the family.
