Cleta Pinson, age 98, left this world peacefully Monday, December 18, 2012, at the Hospice House. She was surrounded by her family all week during a short illness. She left her family with lots of wonderful memories.
Services were Thursday, December 20, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church here in Harrison with Rev. John Darnall speaking. Burial was in Bellefonte Cemetery following the service. Visitation was Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Shady Brown, Dale Wagner, Hansel Bradford, John Wilson Wray, Bige Wray, Billy Ross Wray, Danny Scoggins and Bill Witty.
Honorary pallbearers were Cleta's church family from the Methodist Church, Griff Blansit and the retirees from the Oberman's and Levi Strauss company, John Paul Davis, Dr. Allen Jackson, Dr. Shannon Brownfield, Lynn Mayo, and their staff, Susan Chase, staff of the Harrison Retirement Center, staff of Hospice of the Hills House and Thresa Richardson with Home Health.
Mrs. Pinson was born on September 14, 1914, at Bellefonte, Arkansas, the daughter of Milton Dock and Ruby (Stephens) Keeter. She married Robert Lee Pinson on December 23, 1933. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church here in Harrison and sang in the choir at the Bellefonte Methodist church for years. She worked for many years at the Oberman's Garment factory and for Levi Strauss factory here in Harrison. Cleta loved quilting, gardening, canning, taking care of her grandchildren and loving and supporting her family. She had been a member of the Epworth League and a member of the J.U.G. club.
Mrs. Pinson was preceded in death by her parents Milton Dock and Ruby Keeter, her husband Robert L. Pinson in February 2009, two brothers Milton Dock Keeter, Jr. and William Guy Keeter. She is survived by two sons, Bobby Lee Pinson and wife Kathy, Jerry D. Pinson and wife Jane; four grandchildren, Chris Pinson, Greg Pinson and wife Jody, Doug Pinson and Lily Pinson; two great grandchildren, Jakob and Kalee Pinson; a beloved sister-in-law Alpha Keeter who was more like a sister to Cleta; and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial may be made to the Bellefonte Cemetery Fund, c/o Gene Davis, 102 Callahan St., Harrison, AR 72601.
