Leo George Furstenberg, 87 of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Friday, August 16, 2012 in Paris, Arkansas. He was born on March 27, 1925 in Paris to Frank and Theodora (Elsken) Furstenberg. Leo Served in the Navy and retired from the Army and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Disabled Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign War and Catholic Veterans Association and he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris, Arkansas.
Leo is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Theodora Furstenberg, three sisters Ann, Juanita and Ethel Rita and one brother Tommy.
Leo is survived by his wife Mildred (Werner) Furstenberg, two sons; John Furstenberg and wife Kathy of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Luke Phillips of Paris, Arkansas, two daughters; Dr. Judy Borland and husband Danny of Fairfield, Montana and Linda Harlan and husband Harvey of Hacket, Arkansas, five sisters Dorothy Favenyesi of Roseville, Michigan, Bernice Grist of Alexander, Arkansas, Josephine Enzenberger of Palos Park, Illinois, Betty Tucker of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Mary Ellen Furstenberg of Oakland Park, Florida, one brother Adrian Furstenberg of Subiaco, Arkansas, one Grandson, two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris with Visitation to follow
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, August 20, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris with burial in The National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas at 2:00pm under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Tucker, Billy Tucker, Mike Burnett, Gerald Forst, Jack Soller and Bernie Lee Kremer.
Honorary Pallbearers will be The Catholic War Veterans, James Fletcher, Tom Shriver, Raymond Sharum, Danny Eckelhoff and Marvin Wade.
Family Request that donations be made to the Charity of your choice.
Furstenberg family and friends. I`m so sorry for your loss. Its not easy to say goodbye to someone you love. The bible shows us that soon there will be no death. (Revelation 21:4) It also says that there will be a time when we will see our dead loved ones again, which is brought out at John 5:28, 29. I hope this gives you both hope and encouragement.
