David Wayne Walker passed away August 8, 2012 in Memphis, Tennessee at Methodist Central after a lengthy illness. He was 60 years old.
David was born in Bell City, Alabama to Alpha and Emelda Adams Walker on October 19, 1951. He attended school in Alabama and moved to Helena in 1961. He graduated from Central High School in 1970. David was employed at Cedar Chemical for 27 years before it closed. Later he was employed at Sam's Town Casinos until he became disabled. He was plagued with diabetes, among other problems.
David is survived by his wife, Iva Jean Horne Walker; a sister, Sue Walker Rawls of Memphis; and three brothers, Dan Walker (Lisa) of West Helena, Allen Walker of West Helena, and Joel Walker (Rhita) of Helena.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Billy Walker.
A memorial service for David Walker will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2012 at True Gospel Church, 542 Cooper, West Helena, Arkansas.
