Mary Frances Mills

of Bauxite, AR

December 15, 1931 - August 5, 2012

Mary Frances Mills, 80, of Bauxite, formerly of Mayflower went to be with the Lord August 5, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mary was born in Russellville, AR on December 15, 1931 and lived there until she married and moved to Little Rock. Her husband was a member of the U.S. Army and during her marriage she had the opportunity to see many parts of the United States. Mary was a compassionate and loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Mary had an enormous love for her family, wonderful sense of humor, and a zest for life. She was an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Mary was the kind of person that never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone. Mary always gave words of encouragement and her faith in God never waivered. She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Maumelle.

Left to treasure her memory are her sons, Bobby Mills of Benton, Paul (Jo Ann) Mills of Bauxite, and Scott (Nicci)Mills of Benton; grandchildren, David (Amanda) Mills, Tyler Mills, Dylan Mills, Ali Clark, Maya Mills, and Kristian Mills; sister Pam Bolding of Searcy; several nieces and nephews; her special friend Bill Bowen, and her beloved dog, Sheba.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joe T. Meek and Evelyn Bradshaw Meek; husband David C. Mills; brother Joe Thomas Meek; sister Virginia Estes, and infant granddaughter Angel Mills.

Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012 in the chapel of Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 I-30 in Little Rock with interment following at the National Cemetery in Little Rock.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, August 8thth at Roller-Drummond.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the UAMS Women's Oncology Center, Dr. Alexander Burnett, Susan ''Buffy'' Miller APN, and staff and UAMS CARTI who contributed in giving us 3 more good years with our beloved Mary. The family also would like to thank Arkansas Hospice for helping make the end of life transition more comfortable for her and her family.

To Mary's Family:
My family was blessed to know Mary these past few years through her friendship with our father, Bill Bown. She brought great joy to his life and she had such a sweet spirit.

Our prayers are with all of you.

You are home with the family; reunited with Brother Joe, Sister Jenny, Mama and Daddy. I am sorry I cannot come say a final farewell, but I am not well enough. God has you now, no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Your sister, Pam....
