Rufus Doyle Goodman, born January 13, 1926 in Harness, Arkansas went to be with God August 4, 2012 in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Doyle was of the Baptist faith, he was an entrepreneur, head saw miller, chicken grower, carpenter, wood worker, farmer, musician, and auctioneer. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Survived by wife of the home, Louise (Avey) Goodman; one sister, Marie Lindsey of Marshall, Arkansas; one daughter, Sharon Matlock of Timbo, Arkansas; two grandkids, Shirley Hamblet of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Sheila Wilkey of Timbo, Arkansas; five step-grandkids, Jon David Lancaster of the home, Mike Goodman and Tim Goodman both of Green Forest, Arkansas, Susie Howarth of Springdale, Arkansas, and Vickie Tucker of Harrison, Arkansas; two great-grandkids; nine step-great grandkids, and a host of family and friends.
Preceded in death by parents Eli and Flora (Williams) Goodman; one brother, Fern Goodman; two sisters Cleo Fletcher and Drucilla Richardson; first wife Madge(Fletcher) Goodman; one step-son, Linville Goodman; one step-daughter, Colleen Dearian.
Visitation will be held, Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 6-8PM at Roller Coffman Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Services will be held, Wednesday, August 8, 2012, 2:00PM at Big Springs Baptist Church in Newnata, Arkansas. Interment will follow at Big Springs Cemetery in Newnata, Arkansas. Brother Junior Avey and Brother Junior Barham will officiate.
Pallbearers are Howard Stewart, Anthony Avey, Todd Avey, Josh Avey, Andy Avey, Josh S. Avey. Honorary pallbearers are Venton White, Leonard Glenn, Jimmy Wayne Hudspeth, Edward Wilkey, Kippy J. Goodman, Robert Avey, David Avey, and Letus Avey.
The boys and I will miss Uncle Doyle!!!! Praying for you Aunt Lou!!!!!
I loved Doyle and I am so sorry to the family for their loss. He was always so nice. May God bless the family in dealing with the sadness but know there is gladness in all of this and that he truly knows that happiness and no sickness, all goodness.

I am so sorry for your loss. Doyle was a sweet person, and will be remembered by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. God has called another saint home. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I am so very sorry to hear of Doyle's passing. I am grateful that he no longer has to suffer and that he is with God and his family. I pray for his family left behind, especially Louise. Know that I will miss him a lot. God Bless the whole family
