of North Little Rock, AR
September 25, 1924 - July 24, 2012
Doris Irene Martin of North Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. She was born on September 25, 1924 at London, Arkansas, the daughter of Jesse Andrew and Ethel Nordin Vinson.
She worked at many jobs during her adult life, but the most important to her was helping her late husband, Reverend Vernon H. Martin in his ministry as an Assembly of God pastor.
She is survived by her two children, Gene Martin (Johnnie) of Russellville, and Judy Hadley (Bill) of North Little Rock; six grandchildren, Dina Elzinga (Darryl), Grand Rapids, MI, Tammy Ponsetto (Gene), Robbie Looper (Bobby) both of Russellville, Richard Martin (Micheline), of Fort Smith, Steven Hadley (Alexandra) of Buena Vista, GA, and Melissa Hadley of North Little Rock; fifteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She had a huge heart and a beautiful smile and brought joy to those around her, and she loved her family dearly.
She attended church with her family at Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church until illness kept her from going.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2012 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Charles Mays officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the funeral home.
