of Little Rock, AR
September 13, 1954 - May 14, 2012
Sandra Gayle Maynard of Little Rock went to meet her Heavenly Father on May 14, 2012. She was born on September 13, 1954 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to J. P. Maynard and Jonnie Grace Maynard of Wright, Arkansas.
Sandy was a Christ follower and was not shy about living and sharing her faith. She loved to have a good time and you always felt better after being with her. She loved music, was a loving caregiver to her beloved cats and was a very talented writer. She was never happier than when she was at the beach. Sandy is now at peace and is exactly where she has longed to be.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Marilyn.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Danny and Jo Ann Maynard, nephew Danny Maynard, Jr. (Shelly), niece Dana Bowie (Buddy), all of England, Arkansas and a host of relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Mulberry Cemetery, England, Arkansas at 2:00 P. M. The family will receive friends at 16803 Hwy. 15 South, England, Arkansas. Funeral arrangements are by Roller England Funeral Home, (501) 842-3939.
In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be sent to the Pulaski County Humane Society, 14600 Colonel Glen Rd., Little Rock, Arkansas 72210.
Even though we lost touch for a while (thank goodness for Facebook!) I still remember with grins and giggles my friend, My Nerd. She called me Chins, and she was My Nerd. She was one of the funniest and most fun friends and co-workers I ever had, and I've missed the days at FamilyLife with her. Condolences to her family, and Nerd - say hello to my son "Bry-Guy'" (you had a name for everyone, didn't you? Love you and miss you my sister, but I'll see you again.).
Danny, Joann & Family
We were saddened to learn of Sandys death, you all are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
So sorry for your loss. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.
Sandy was one of my dear childhood friends. We spent many nights at each others house. Lots of great memories. My thoughts and prayers are with Danny and all of the family at this most difficult time.
Danny and family,
Sandy (George) and I went to college together at UCA back whenever it was SCA. She and I attended MBSF together, sang together at County Line Missionary Bapt. Church and rode home in "Lima Bean" from college. We always enjoyed sharing about our Lord and Savior and having a good laugh over just about any thing! Being friends with Sandy was like being in God's company all the time! I will look forward to meeting up with her again in heaven one day and sharing another good laugh or two! Until then, May God give you and your family the strength, comfort and peace that comes from knowing Him.
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Sandy is that big smile of hers and that it was always there! My prayers are with you all. Beth
Sandy was such an amazing christian woman. Such a wonderful friend who always wanted to make everyone she knew LAUGH OUT LOUD! I was so blessed to have share an office with her at Conway Regional...so many laughs!!!
What a great friend Sandy was to me and many more. I loved being around her as she always made me laugh. We had many great times together over the years. I will miss her so much but so happy she is now in Heaven just where she wanted to be and she talked so much about going there. I'll miss you Sandy . . .
My deepest condolences to Sandy's family & friends. I worked with her at Yellowstone in 1979. I remember Sandy as one who loved her Lord, loved life & lived it to the fullest. Prayers for our Lord's peace & comfort for all.
My prayers are with the family and friends of this great lady. I missed her when she left LifeSynch and I'll miss her more now. She was funny, crazy, and down to earth. A complete joy to be around. I am relieved that her mom, dad, & Debbie will be there to greet her as well as Jesus. She was so looking forward to that day. Sandy Mae, You will be missed but will continue to be in each of our heart's.
I am so sad to hear about Sandy, I haven't seen her in so long but she was always so sweet when we were growing up. Danny ya'll are in my thoughts and prayers. Love you and your family!!! Marsha
I met "George" our freshman year at UCA. Her favorite line was "I'm only 16!"
I am from Altheimer and rode home once with George in her car "Lima Bean". Her radio did not work and all the way home, we recited Robert Frost's poem, "Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening". Later I took an Introduction to Poetry final exam that I aced due to riding home with her and saying that poem! She was a neat person to know. I have lots of neat memories of George living her faith in Christ. My sincere sympathy to her family.
Sorry to hear about your sister's death. Will keep you in my heart and prayers.
May the God of all comfort and peace be with you. I know that a sudden lost is especially hard but may you feel the Everlasting Arms. Maynard as we affectionately called her was deep and wide. Very committed Christian and at the same time an off beat sense of humor. Those close to her had at least one practical joke played on them by Sandy. She was fun. I enjoyed our years that she worked at FamilyLife and the lady's retreats that were great fun. I remember the retreat when she decided to become a red head. It is a comfort to know that Debby Perry is already in heaven to greet her. Love to you all.
Sandy was such a blessing to be around. She was full of laughs and expressed her love for her beloved cats. Accepting of other point of views, but vocal about her own, her faith, and God. Sandy will surely be missed.

Can't believe my dear friend, Sandy, has left us. But she is with her heavenly Father and I know she often spoke of seeing Him. I don't think anyone could make me laugh like Sandy could. Will miss you much crazy lady!
What a joy Sandy was to all her knew her. I so enjoyed the time I worked with her at FamilyLife. She loved the Lord and was His faithful servant and witness.
