Louise Farris Cook

of Mountain View, AR

March 29, 1926 - May 20, 2011

Louise Farris Cook left this earth to go to her new home on May 20, 2011 in Batesville, AR.

Louise was born on March 29, 1926, in Timbo, Arkansas. Her parents were James Monroe and Ollie Norman Farris. She was the third to the youngest and the last surviving of twelve children.

She grew up in Timbo, Arkansas and at a young age went to work for Dr. Bill Hutto, in Clinton, AR. In 1950, she moved to Oklahoma where she met her true love, Martin ''Windle'' Cook, on a blind date at the Rexall Drug Store in Ponca City, OK. Louise and Windle married in 1955. She worked as a private duty nurses aide until her health forced her to retire in 1982. She moved back to Stone County in 2005 and made her home in Mountain View in order to be closer to her family. She was of the Methodist faith. Louise loved to spend time with her family and friends. Her favorite times were when everyone was gathered together for a meal. She especially looked forward to the upcoming Farris Family Reunion and had hopes of being well enough to attend. Those who knew her will miss her candid ways and witty sense of humor.

Her parents, 4 sisters and 7 brothers, and one son Ellis Adams preceded her in death.

Her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Preston Keel of Mountain View; granddaughter, Danielle Keel of Oklahoma City; and one grandson, Carson Keel of Mountain View, survive her. She is also survived by a host of the most faithful nieces and nephews any aunt ever had. Louise would ask that you remember her fondly. She would encourage you to live your life to the fullest, making lots of special memories. She would wish for you to have absolute, true happiness.

Services will be Saturday, May 28th, at 11am at the Cross of Christ Victory Fellowship Church at 122 Jefferson St. Pastor Bill Giberson will be officiating. Family requests no flowers, but memorials/donations in her name may be made to the Timbo Cemetery Fund, c/o Centennial Bank, P.O. Box 1228, Mtn. View, AR 72560.

Roller Coffman Funeral Home, Mtn. View is in charge of the arrangements.

I know your mother loved you so very much,as she told me so many times. I just want to tell you that I could have never loved her more even if she had been blood kin I send my sympathy to all who loved her and will miss her. Remember, the tears we shed for her passing are tears for us, not Aunt Louise. To be absent from the body is to be in the pressence of the Lord.
