Sallie Sue (Canard) Corter passed away May 27, 2006 at the age of 70. She was a remarkable woman, and to know her was to love her. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother, awesome grandmother, a wonderful great-grandmother, a special daughter, and a special sister--who was loved dearly by all. She is leaving a wonderful legacy and many wonderful memories in our hearts. She was a 28 year retiree of Congra Foods of Batesville, Arkansas. She enjoyed life and loved collecting angels, fishing, quilting, puzzles, and being with her family friends. She was a true rebel always fighting to get it her way. She was a woman of God.
She is survived by her mother, Daisy Canard, one sister, Gertrude Broyles, three sons--Walter Dean Corter and wife Regina of St. James, Johnny Leon Corter and wife Donna of Mtn. View, Hershel Lynn Corter and wife Katie of Calico Rock, eight grandchildren: Amanda Mitchell, Joshua Corter, Johnathen Corter, Heath Corter, Deanna Corter, Ashley Corter, Justin Corter, Kesha Corter; three great-grandchildren; Lance Corter, Halle Mitchell and Emily Mitchell; and two very special nephews Bob Broyles and Bill Broyles and their families.
She was perceded in death by her husband, Hershel Dean Leon Corter, her father, Walter L. Canard; four brothers, Thurlow Canard, Cecil Tom Canard, Fred Canard, and Wimps E. Canard.
Visitation is Monday, May 29, 2006 from 6 - 8 p.m., Roller Coffman Chapel.
Funeral service is 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Levisy Flat Christian Fellowship Church with David Campbell and Alan Cartwright officiating. Interment will be in Levisy Flat Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Justin Corter, Johnathen Corter, Heath Corter, Joshua Corter, Bill Broyles, and Bob Broyles.
Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Canard, Ricky Corter, Mike Canard and Tony Corter.
