Bobby Derrill Davis, 89, received his heavenly wings on September 10, 2020 in Shreveport Louisiana. Bobby was born 12/28/1930 in England Arkansas to Henry and Ethel Davis
Bobby served 20 years active duty in the United States Marine Corps. His tours of duty included the Korean War, and Vietnam War. He finished out his military career in Shreveport Louisiana, retired a Gunnery Sergeant E8.
After retiring from the USMC, Bobby settled down in Shreveport Louisiana, eventually hired as a senior maintenance employee with the State of Louisiana, working until his retirement 20 years later with the LSU Medical Center. After retirement, Bobby moved back to England Arkansas to be close to his family.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Barbara Billings and Gloria Ann Guess.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, daughter Michele Davis Shinault (Eddie) of Frierson Louisiana, sons Michael Davis (Diane) of Pasadena Texas, Robert Davis (Donna) of Shreveport Louisiana and Daniel Davis (Debra) of Coppell Texas; grandchildren Jay and Wendy Shinault, Christy Lowery, Jessica Turner (Anthony), Lynnette Davis, Abby Davis; great grandchildren Maci Cockerham, Bryce Lowery, Ayla, Avey and Kota Turner, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bobby loved working with wood and his creativity was shared with his family. He also enjoyed yardwork and took great pride in all his tasks. He loved his travels to and from Louisiana to visit his family, holiday gatherings when he could enjoy his favorite foods and fellowship. He enjoyed listening to music, especially ''real'' country music, and gospel recordings.
Bobby, a devote Baptist, loved spending time with the Lord in reading his word. He spent endless hours at the table discussing the Bible and current events with son-in-law Eddie. He believed that the Lord was happy when ''the sunshine felt good today''.
Visitation will be held before service. Services will be held at the Roller '''' England funeral home in England Arkansas on Saturday, September 19, 2020 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Mulberry Cemetery.
