Winona Ellen Patterson, age 92, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 in Memphis, Tennessee. Mrs. Patterson was born March 15, 1928 in Hampton, Arkansas to the late Abner Edward Gilbert and Ester Floy Proctor Gilbert.
She was of the Assembly of God faith and she loved reading her Bible daily and listening to music by the Gaithers. She also enjoyed, cooking, spending time with her family and collecting angels and crosses.
Mrs. Patterson is survived by two sons, Gary Patterson, Sr. (Donna) of Florence, Mississippi and Jimmy Patterson of West Helena; three daughters, Shirley Harmon of Marvell, Helen Coffman (Jim) of Heber Springs and Vicki Adams of West Helena; stepdaughter, June Snyder (Randolf) of Marvell; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Gay Rowsey of Wichita, Kansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 35 years, Warren Odell Patterson; two sons, Ricky Morgan and Donnie Patterson; daughter, Beverly Gilbert; sister, Connie Crist; and two brothers, Winfred Gilbert and Buddy Gilbert.
A graveside service for Winona Patterson will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Brother Rudy Weaver will officiate.
We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and asking all attendees to graveside services to please practice social distancing. When social distancing is not possible, please wear a face mask.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Patterson's grandsons: Jason Harmon, Shaine Foley, Gary Patterson, Jr., Trevor Patterson, Jason McGaugh; and her great-grandson, Donovan Foley.
Service will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
