Laura Glasscock Burgin 75, a retired librarian of North Little Rock, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005.
Laura was born in Little Rock March 4, 1930, to the late Dewey G. and Nina Bates Glasscock. She graduated from Little Rock High School in 1948 and UALR in 1976. Laura served as librarian for the Little Rock Public Schools, UALR Ottenheimer Library and retired from the Arkansas State Library.
She volunteered in the AARP tax assistance program for the elderly for 12 years as well as volunteering at Lakewood United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Bob Millett Sunday School Class and a life member of United Methodist Women.
Laura is survived by a son, John Burgin, and a daughter, Emily Burgin Roberts and husband, Tommy, of North Little Rock; two grandchildren, Reid Denton of Woodbridge, Va., and Stewart Denton of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Lancaster of Kilgore, Texas, and Rachel Finley and husband Willis of Longview, Texas; a brother, Dewey Glasscock and wife Betty of Little Rock; and host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2005, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel (791-7400). Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander, AR.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 22 at the funeral home.
