Corey Joseph Taylor

of Jonesboro, AR

November 17, 1993 - September 16, 2018

Corey Joseph Taylor, 24, of Jonesboro, passed away on September 16, 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee.

He was born on November 17, 1993 in Batesville, Arkansas to Joe Patrick Taylor and Kathleen Fitzpatrick.

Corey was a fiercely independent, sweet, and funny individual. He would help anyone who needed it. He loved his family and friends especially spending time with them at the lake. He was a true dog lover and would have adopted every one of them in the world if he could. He loved to drive fast (and pay tickets). He enjoyed good food, was a Steelers fan. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Beebe, Arkansas. He was a student at Arkansas State University. Ultimately, he was the best brother anyone could ask for.

He is survived by his father, Joe Taylor (Stacy) of Batesville; his mother, Kathleen Fitzpatrick of Beebe; brothers, Justin Taylor and Ben Taylor both of Batesville; sisters, Julie Taylor of St. Louis, Missouri and Stephanie Taylor of Batesville; his grandparents, Steve and Sandy Taylor of Batesville and Barbara Fitzpatrick of Batesville; uncles, Jason Taylor (Brook) and Josh Taylor; and aunt Laurie Vaughn.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Eads, Tyler Booth, Cody Shoffner, Colton Taylor, Devan Webster, Aarronn Mitchell, Braden Jones, and Blake Difani.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Compass Church with Jeremy Sullivan officiating and Laurie Vaughn presenting the eulogy.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to service.

Memorials may be made in Corey's Honor to NEA Humane Society, 6111 E Highland Drive, Jonesboro, AR 72401.

May God comfort each of the family members as you walk through this valley of the shadow of death. We did not know Corey , but we’ve lost sons close to his age and we cherish their memory just as y’all do of your son. It’s heartbreaking to lose family member especially at a young age. We are of the Christian faith and we dealt with our pain based on our belief that God is still sovereign, even when we don’t understand tragedy.
We’ve found that each person in the families has to grieve in their own way and own time, so we encourage each of you to be aware and allow that in the coming weeks. And also you may not think so in the next few weeks, but as time passes you will be able to think more on the good times that you had together and less about losing this fine young man.
It is always good to hear people remember and name the one you’ve lost. Corey will not be forgotten by friends and I hope they’ll share their memories of him with you

Joe, Kathleen, and the rest of the family, my heart is broken for you. Haven’t seen you in many years, but John and I were very fond of your family and kids. Know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
