JW ''Jake'' Robertson, age 97, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in Helena. Mr. Robertson was born May 18, 1921 in Bird Song, Arkansas to the late William and Falsie Robertson. He was the owner of Robertson Furniture Company which was founded in 1961 and a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Robertson is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty; two sons, Jerry Robertson (Betty) of Lexa and Keith Robertson (Michi) of Poplar Grove; daughter-in-law, Wanda Robertson of West Helena; seven grandchildren, Rhonda Reed (Tommy), Jenny Turner (Britt), Brandon Robertson, Carmen Dunigan (Randy), Keith Robertson (Lacey), Brooke Whatley (Justin) and Jake Robertson (Kaliee); twelve great-grandchildren, T.J. Reed, Katie Reed, Chelsea Robertson, Cody Robertson, Jackson Robertson, Rae Ann Dunigan, Cache Robertson, Kymber Robertson, Kaleb Robertson, Hayden Robertson, Aubrey Robertson and Logan Robertson; one great-great-granddaughter, Tilly Reed; and a sister, Opal Leach of West Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Dennis Robertson and Bruce Robertson; grandson, Christopher Robertson; and sister, Edith Evans.
A graveside service for JW Robertson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Brother Lance Madden will officiate.
Pallbearers are Keith Robertson, Jr., Jake Robertson, Tommy Reed, T.J. Reed, James Haynes and Larry Wilson.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Robertson's passing. He was a nice guy in our neighborhood and always fun when we hung out at the house.

I want to say popaw was a great man . I loved spending time with him hearing his stories our rides to the river park our cho.cho benges and our grape vine cig.
