Hinkle Decker, 71, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018. Hinkle was born on June 29, 1947 at home in Mountain View, Arkansas to the late Hubert Otis and Ruby Pearl (Hinkle) Decker. Hinkle was a graduate of Arkansas State University and worked for 31 years as a teacher and a coach. His passion for coaching was evident in the life-long bonds he made with his players at Fifty Six and Mountain View. Hinkle was also a lifelong cattle farmer and was a devoted member of Flatwoods Missionary Baptist Church. One of his proudest accomplishments was being awarded the Stone County Farm Family of the Year in 2015.
Hinkle was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and friend to many. Among other things, Hinkle enjoyed tennis, basketball, playing the guitar, riding horses, and he loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of loving God and serving others.
Hinkle is survived by his wife Nancy (Mitchell) Decker; two sons, Timmy Decker and Bobby (Susanne) Decker; two daughters, Christy (Jake) Newton and Kelly (John) Akins; one sister, Donnie Jean (Jimmie) Whitfield; fourteen grandchildren-Macey, Avery, Brody and Jesy Decker; Hailey, Hope and Hudson Decker; Mackenzie, Jack and Tyler Newton; and Ellie, Emma, Erin and Eli Akins-along with many extended family and friends.
Hinkle was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Otis and Ruby Pearl (Hinkle) Decker.
Visitation is Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Flatwoods Missionary Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services are Thursday, August 16, 2018, 2:00 PM at Flatwoods Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Morrell and Brother Will Thompson officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Flatwoods Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Stacy Buchanan, Kevin McCarn, Kyle McCarn, Kevin Polczynski, Nick Polczynski, Jeff Wait, Jimmy Summers, and Lance McElroy. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Mitchell, Gary McClung, Jim McCarn, Danny Thomas, Jim Wait, Johnny Scroggins, and Jimmie Whitfield.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

Hinkle touched our hearts with his testimony of when he accepted Christ and he always made us feel welcome when we were visiting Flatwoods and looking for a church home.

Hinkle was such a good man. He always had a smile. His influence will live on through the lives of his family and friends through the influence that was so loving and caring for those around him.

Hinkle was one of the first friends I encountered when we moved to Mountain View. Hinkle, Nancy, and their children became special to all my family. All the travel to ball games, Hinkle and I refereeing made our time in Mountain View special. We will miss his smile and warm handshake.
