Hinkle Decker

June 29, 1947 - August 13, 2018

Hinkle Decker, 71, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018. Hinkle was born on June 29, 1947 at home in Mountain View, Arkansas to the late Hubert Otis and Ruby Pearl (Hinkle) Decker. Hinkle was a graduate of Arkansas State University and worked for 31 years as a teacher and a coach. His passion for coaching was evident in the life-long bonds he made with his players at Fifty Six and Mountain View. Hinkle was also a lifelong cattle farmer and was a devoted member of Flatwoods Missionary Baptist Church. One of his proudest accomplishments was being awarded the Stone County Farm Family of the Year in 2015.

Hinkle was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and friend to many. Among other things, Hinkle enjoyed tennis, basketball, playing the guitar, riding horses, and he loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of loving God and serving others.

Hinkle is survived by his wife Nancy (Mitchell) Decker; two sons, Timmy Decker and Bobby (Susanne) Decker; two daughters, Christy (Jake) Newton and Kelly (John) Akins; one sister, Donnie Jean (Jimmie) Whitfield; fourteen grandchildren-Macey, Avery, Brody and Jesy Decker; Hailey, Hope and Hudson Decker; Mackenzie, Jack and Tyler Newton; and Ellie, Emma, Erin and Eli Akins-along with many extended family and friends.

Nancy and family,
We are praying for God's peace for you now and in the coming days. We praise God that Hinkle is now enjoying the presence
of our Lord and Savior.
Hinkle touched our hearts with his testimony of when he accepted Christ and he always made us feel welcome when we were visiting Flatwoods and looking for a church home.
We are so blessed to have the privilige to call him a brother in Christ and a friend. We think of our friends in Mountain View often. Carlos and Leane Jones
